Strategic Engagement with Malaysia Halal Council Secretariat (JAKIM)
On Tuesday, 24 June 2025, representatives from Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) paid a courtesy visit to the Malaysia Halal Council Secretariat, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), in Putrajaya.
The MEDIU delegation included Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohd Zin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Popoola Kareem Hamed, Ustaz Jamaluddin Hussain, Puan Nurfaizah Abdol Rahman, Puan Shuhaidah Ahmad Ramly, and Puan Sarah Husna Mat Rasid.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Haji Mohamad Zamri bin Mohamed Shapik, Director of the Malaysia Halal Council Secretariat; Mr. Mohd Rizal bin Ismail, Senior Assistant Director, Professional Branch, Malaysia International Halal Academy (MIHA); and Puan Vivi Saliza binti Sunaini, Senior Assistant Director.
Throughout the engagement, both parties exchanged views and discussed opportunities for strategic collaboration in training, consultancy, research, short courses, and other halal industry-related programs. Detailed insights were also shared regarding the procedures for accreditation as a Halal Training Provider and Halal Trainer for MEDIU.
Notably, the Malaysia Halal Council Secretariat extended an invitation to MEDIU to serve as a Strategic Partner (Rakan Strategik – RS) at the international level under the Malaysia International Halal Academy (MIHA) program, marking a significant milestone in enhancing MEDIU’s global halal education presence.
The engagement was both productive and insightful, paving the way for meaningful collaboration in the near future.
Our sincere appreciation to JAKIM for the gracious hospitality and valuable knowledge-sharing.
